I love planning and researching for our holidays. This stuff excites me.
and I've been given the all clear to start planning our USA trip for October this year!! yayerrrrr.
We have to go in October due to D's footy commitments and it sucks because we are always there for Autumn and we both really want to go visit in Summer or Winter. I want to see Snow! I haven't seen snow since I was 3!
New York and San Francisco are both my favourite places to visit. I've been to New York twice and three times to San Francisco. There is just something about these two cities that keeps me coming back. I can't get enough.

I've also been checking out a few of our old holiday snaps and added a few here :)
We're tossing up if we should go back to the places that we love... New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas or should we visit new places... San Diego, Chicago, Washington DC and maybe Orlando?
We also want to drive from San Francisco to Las Vegas or vice versa and maybe renew our vows at The Little White Chapel in Vegas.
There is so much to squeeze in in just 3 weeks! Arggghhhhhhhhh.
Have you got any ideas or tips for what we should see and do? Hotel recs?
I would love to hear them!

We're doing a mix of old and new places for our USA trip in July. We've been to LA and Vegas before and this time we'll also be going to San Diego, San Francisco, then Mexico. We did the drive from LA to Vegas last year and it was one of the best parts of the trip so we are doing it again via San Diego (although road trips aren't for everyone) - you get to see places and things you wouldn't sitting in a plane. I don't think there's anything wrong in going back to the places you love - knowing what's waiting for you makes it even more exciting :) The only request I had for this trip was that I got to stay at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas again - I loved that place so I can recommend that if you haven't stayed there. Enjoy the planning :)
ReplyDelete3 weeks!!!! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteSSG xxx
I want to help, but all I can think of is 'do it all!' which is no help whatsoever. Your photos are beautiful, I'd love to go back :(
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!! I've only been to the US once, but it was so amazing and I can't wait to go back. I would say do it all too, but that's not very helpful! Maybe pick a couple of favourites to go back to and do the new places! x
ReplyDeleteIf you are into museums, art etc... Washington DC has tonnes of them and most of them are free! San Diego is also very beautiful, so I would suggest a trip there, even if you just drive down from LA (about 1.5hours) and have a night there. I am jealous of you already!! x
ReplyDeleteyou're making me miss home!! i just moved from san francisco to germany.. but i'm originally from washington dc.. but i also love the excitement of vegas hahaha they're ALL great places.. where ever you end up deciding to go you will have a fabulous time!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are planning a trip to the US in August, I have NO idea where to start
ReplyDeleteVisit Boston. It's only 4 hours north of NYC by bus. I lived in Boston for 16 months and can give you plenty of tips on where to do and what to see and do. It's such a great city and everyone I know who has been absolutely falls in love with it!
ReplyDeleteI think you should visit new places.. who knows, you might fall in love with one of them... =) Or you could go to washington, dc and also drop by NYC.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see pics.
Hello from a new follower. =)
I wish I was going to NYC too... sighz, just the idea of the shopping alone is giving me thrills. I say do new places! But if I go again, I'd definitely visit San Fran and then NYC again!
ReplyDeletePORTLAND, OREGON. Best city in America.
ReplyDeleteI used to go to all my old favourites - San Fran, NYC, Denver because I liked going back to the same places. But then I did a trip that included San Diego (also a very cool city) and Portland, and I can promise you that SF is NOTHING in comparison. It's SO cool. Go! Do it!
Going back to NYC is not a question - its MUST!
ReplyDeletecan you take me with you? pretty please? =D
I've been to Hawaii, LA and Vegas. I fell in love with Hawaii (hot all year round) and would go back to Vegas, so much fun! I recommend if you haven't been to Hawaii go there. Definitely go to places you've never been like Orlando and check out the biggest Disneyland there :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your planning! And 3 weeks is perfect, so much to see and do.

I love US.. it's just amaze balls.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at The Crescent in Beverly Hills in LA which was great because we walked to all the fantastic restaurants on Beverly Drive and it was also right near the Beverly Centre for shopping which was awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe had a car in LA because we drove from Vegas to LA, I think if you stay in Beverly Hills you really need a car to get around LA.
The road trip from Vegas to LA was awesome and we'd do it again. We went via the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon in Arizona which was amazing to see and we did it all in one day which fit into our 3 week trip excellently.
We stayed at New York, New York in Vegas which was cheap (if you join their online club/list you get specials and we paid $25 a night lol) it was a fun place and the rooms were very spacious.
We stayed at The Roosevelt Hotel in NYC which I would definitely recommend as it is mid-town and pretty much walking distance to everywhere! It has an awesome rooftop bar which we couldnt use because it was snowing but it was beautiful and smelled like cinnamon lol!
If I was going to the States again I would go to Vegas in summer, NYC again, Washington DC because I'd love to see all the monuments and Mt Rushmore, and maybe some of the southern states for a change. Also apparently Washington state not far from San Fran (where Twilight is filmed) is beautiful too.
Or you could also do what we did and come home via Mexico. That was an experience! Happy planning!! X
