Oh Christmas tree!

The tree is up!

We invested in a good tree last year from Myer, I think this one was just over $250 for a 5ft. I also got all my decorations from Myer too and I went for a purple theme of course.

A friend questioned why I put up a tree and why D and I are celebrating Christmas, now that he has converted. (umm..what a rude question!) Christmas means a lot to him, he has celebrated it all his life, I'm not going to take something special away from him!

and I love singing christmas carols and giving presents!

Tis the season to be jolly. Fa la la la la, la la, la laaaa....

This bauble doesn't really go with our tree but it's from New York, therefore placed in a prime position.

I'm not a tinsel person.

Twinkle...twinkle.

I love fairy lights, can't wait to walk around my parents place to see the pretty houses covered in lights. They're sick for it in my old hood.

The venue: Villa Shalimar

After inspecting a number of Villas in Bali we finally chose Villa Shalimar.

It ticked our boxes - Oceanfront, enough room to sleep about 22 people, friendly staff, ideal location for the ceremony and reception. Massive ticks!

The husband and I inspected the Villa over a year ago now and we were only allowed to look in from one corner as it was occupied at the time and we knew straight away that it was the one, so we put a 50% deposit for it the next day.

Our planner has done a few weddings at this Villa and could not speak highly enough of the place.

Villa Shalimar comprises of 3 Villas on the one complex, the 2 bedroom - Cantik (D and I had this to ourselves) the 4 bedroom - Makanda - the middle villa and the 6 bedroom - Kalima. ALL with wifi.

Each villa has it's very own kitchen, outdoor bathroom, king size bed and amazing pool.

You can rent a individual villa or rent the whole thing out - which we did!

Everything in this villa is just stunning, from the beds, to the artwork around the property, to the delicious food!

It was so awesome to have such a private holiday with our closest friends and family, I loved roaming between the Villas.

The privacy was perfect for the wedding too.

They have really paid attention to every detail big and small in this place.

The staff at the villa were just super lovely and friendly, they were all so helpful. This was the first time in my life that I have not locked my passport or money away while staying somewhere and everything was safe. Mr Agung - The Villa Supervisor was amazing, everything was easily done or arranged. Mr Agung and his staff made our stay very enjoyable, we are all thinking about a reunion in the near future!

The drive in, surrounded by lush rice paddies.

Our bridal party on the bus, driving down the narrow road, they had no idea where we were. Lol.

Budda at the entrance.

Door to our Villa Cantik.

Four poster king bed in Cantik - Every night they would turn the room down, with candles and always made sure the mozzie repellent was switched on. A must for me!

The little details.

View from our bed.

Outdoor bathroom tiles.

Double Shower.

Budda in our Villa.

Fully equipped kitchen with fresh fruit daily.

Villa Kalima.

We spent hours chilling in these lounge areas. SO relaxing.

One of the pools.

I miss this place.

Super comfy sun lounges.

Views of the rice paddies out back.

The amazing staff! Always ready and happy to help. The chef made delicious food! Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. All types of cuisines.

On our last day we all didn't want to leave, we were starting to call it home!

you know it. Instagram.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I wanted to post pics of our holiday, wedding and honeymoon! I brought my camera to work today and forgot the stupid battery and cable. Wahhhhhh!!

So instead I shall bore you with some instagram.

HOT PINK Kitchenaid! I sent this to my bestie, pink is her fave colour, just waiting for one to come in purple for me.

I love lamb cutlets! So glad D's brother is a butcher, we get free meat! I'm also addicted to pepper sauce.

Blanket animals, I don't know why but they always make these at weddings where I come from in Indonesia. These below are meant to be swans or snakes? I think they're creepy.

This one is a mousey. They even stick eyes on them.

Oh, rainy Sydney, stuck inside at lunch.

Our iMac! Getting the hang of it now. I love it.

If you know Mascot, you'll know Hong Ha, the best chilli chicken rolls!

D and I were fascinated that we fit perfectly on the lounge the other day. Without any kicking fights ;)

I put chilli flakes on everything and I need to stop drinking V, it's sooo bad for me.

Nawww I love our wedding photos, we've put a few up around our apartment, this is D's side of the bed,
a Glasshouse Candle in Gardenia, my favourite.

The Thai near my work does the best beef salad.. Mmmmmm..

Wow! This week has gone sooo fast. yayyyyyyyy!

Mr&Mrs K

This is one of my most favourite (non pro) photo of my Mum and Dad.

We had their Indonesian outfits made over in Bali a few days after we arrived.

Random story time: Mum and I were shopping in the fabric markets in Denpasar when the 6.7? earthquake hit and we didn't feel a thing. We were inside a shop and everyone in other stores and on the street started screaming and looking up. We freaked out too! Mum grabbed my arm and we ran out on the street, I thought someone had been killed with the way everyone was reacting. Mum finally managed to ask someone and they said they felt an earthquake. Immediately I started getting messages from home to see if we were ok. D was at the hotel pool and started seeing the staff rush out and he followed too, it actually hit harder where he was in Legian, D said he saw the hotel sway. Freaky.

Back to the outfits, before we left, it was difficult to find something for Dad to wear, he doesn't wear suits or ties, so I thought why not just get him a Batik shirt made! He would feel way more comfortable in it. Mum already had 2 choices of dresses to wear and she jumped at the idea of wearing something Indonesian too.

We bought all the fabric on Jl Surabaya in Denpasar, this street was full of fabric stores, that sold gorgeous Batiks and different types and colours of stunning lace. (I got the fabric for my Kebaya here too)

We used Anika Tailor in Tuban, they were lovely, they worked out a awesome price for us and had it made in 2 days, I was super busy and unable to get to their shop for a fitting, so they came to the hotel one afternoon to do the fitting in our room.

nawwwwww. I loved how they looked!

Silly Lappy!

After 5 good years, my laptop is dead! well, almost dead, so I've found it a perfect excuse to get a new computer.

and we are going to getting this! yayyyyyyyy.

I've never had a imac before, besides my iphone and ipad. My girlfriend was telling me that I can't save my photos and transfer them to the mac? Anyone know a way around this? I'm a total IT noob....

Releeease meeee!

We originally wanted to do a lantern release because they look so pretty but our wedding planner said she has heard of disaster stories of people getting burnt and lanterns landing on Villas and burning roofs down, so we decided to do this instead.

Here are some pics that my friend took on the day.

My amazing girlfriends who helped hand them out.

Oo Oh! you can just see my train in this one.

Weeeeeeeee.... so pretty!

It was so beautiful. All of our gorgeous guests really enjoyed it.
