Shopping and a Flattie.

I got myself down to Burwood on Tuesday. I wanted to hit up that Japanese shop that I saw with J last week. I spent a good hour in there. Lucky I went on my own! D would've lost it if he had to wait for me.

I wanted this! Grow beautiful flowers in your lavatory :)
 ha!!
 Look what I bought!
3 Plastic containers to store my make up, polishes and brushes, bobby pins, a sewing kit and measuring tape.

Also bought a mini glasshouse candle. It's so little and cute. I couldn't resist!
Headbands for my bridesmaids, $15 down to $1!!
Bangles for me $15 down to $5! Thanks Target.

Hours later when I returned to my car, I had a flat tyre! Flat as a bloody tack it was. Silly me, I don't have NRMA assistance, as my car is still pretty new, I didn't think I'd need it. My hot tip to you chickies who cannot change a tyre, get NRMA roadside assistance! or learn to change a tyre. ha!

In panic mode, I drove to the closet petrol station, when I got there it was one of those old school pumps! No idea how to use those, so off I went to the next one about 50 metres down the road. When I got there to pump it, there was only 2 psi in it! It was SO flat. The air was just coming straight back out. There was a hole. damn! So I rang D, who was on the lounge at home, in no mood to come out and help me, was just about to have a arvo snooze. He asked me to ask a random to change it, no way!, was I going to ask a stranger. So I hung up on him in anger and just sat in my car and thought great. I'm going to be all night. D called back about 15 minutes later and said that our dear friend J, had finished footy training and would be there in 5 minutes. I was so relieved!! Hooray!!

Yay J!! what a lifesaver!

Do you know how to change a tyre?? I'm thinking I should learn but I don't think I have the strength!

Yum Cha and mould.

Not exactly two words that you would like to hear in one sentence but let me continue.

On Monday D and I both had the day off, so we decided to visit our favourite Yum Cha place. The ladies that work the food are super cute and one complimented me on my eyes. (Yay for finally mastering liquid eyeliner!!) She always made sure she came to us first when she had a new batch of goodies.

We always get Prawn Dumplings

Love how this place also shows the price on the stamp cards!

We ate heaps! a good $60+ worth of yummy goodness, totally forgot to take more photos because I was busy stuffing my face!

Now onto the mould. This mould totally ruined my chi. We live in an apartment and during the last three weeks, Sydney has been copping a bit of rain, so we hadn't been able to open the window in our spare room. I was going through some stuff in there and found mould! On Jackets, On my brand new RMK boots still inside the box, on my Steve Madden Wedges. I was devastated. It was disgusting. I felt like I failed my domestic wifey duties and D assured me it wasn't my fault. Then I remembered reports on how Brittany Murphy died. From Mould! We opened the windows, put a fan in the room, cleared and washed most things and hit Bunnings.

We ended up buying 4 containers of Damprid, not really sure if it works but I hope it does.

So embarrassing walking through Bunnings. YES!! We are having massive mould issues.!! Whatchulookinat??

The Weekend, weekend + a spot of shopping.

Recently, well pretty much all of June, I have had a lot of time off. It's been great but I wish I could have gone overseas for a little trip or something.
Now that would've been ideal.

Instead I've just been bumming around the place, procrastinating, stressing about my procrastination and not at any time did I go to the gym. So annoyed.

Excuse that tiny rant, other than that, I had a great weekend. It started hanging with J, going to Burwood to get M's birthday pressie.I haven't been to Burwood in so long, I want to go back sometime this week. I don't know what it is about unfamiliar shopping centres but it makes me want to buy more. We also came across a Japanese store that seemed like Daiso, which have stores in Melbourne. Everything was $2.50, I want to get some stands for my make up brushes and my nail polish. I just love little nic nacs, I could spend hours in there reading all the packaging.

I made spaghetti and cheese Jaffles on Saturday morning and it made me smile seeing them stuck to the top. It never happens!

Saturday D and I went shopping at Parramatta. I needed a new pot for soups and Scanpan were 50% off and we got a Dutch Oven! (ha!) We had a little laugh about it in Myer, D is half Dutch and the other type of "Dutch Ovens" aren't pleasant. Here is my pot, which I cooked chicken and Vegie Soup last night.  It's nice and deep. Scanpan is the best.

I also got a Bamboo Tea holder for my Tea bags.

I discovered nailsupplies via the VF forum and ordered myself 9 OPI polishes. They were about 6USD each! I can't believe DJ's charge $19.95 per bottle. I have recently become addicted to nail polish and want to start a collection, D walked past while I was ordering and couldn't understand the need for 9. Men just don't get it. Can't wait for those to come in!

Wait, there's more! I ordered a set of Purple Sigma brushes and also their 'Bare" palette. I've been lemming for the Urban Decay Naked Palette for ages and this bare palette has pretty neutral colours so I was willing to give it a go. I think I will just get the Naked Palette from ebay eventually.

Also purchased: exhibit A.
Sally Hansens Mega Shine top coat - Love it, keeps my nail polish in tact
Maybelline Ridge Filler - I have ridgy nails and this helps smooths them out
Loreal Contour Kohl in Carbon Black - Don't really know why I got this, It's too hard to line my top lid with this, will probably just use to line my lower waterline
Maybelline baby lips, Lip Balm - LOVE it! Leave my lips so baby smooth
Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black - Can't wait to see how that works later!
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner - Good liner, although need to do a few layers to get it dark
Loreal - Elnet Hairspray - I like the hold of this hairspray but not a fan of the smell
Maybelline Eye Studio cream liner - pretty good, need a better brush for it though
Sally Hanson Nail polish strips in houndstooth print - So excited about this! I've watched a heap of reviews on YouTube and I can't wait to try it out.
Face of Australia Nail polish remover - Super remover! Smells good too
Kiehls avocado eyecream - Never to young to start using eyecream, it starts of quite thick and you need to work it and warm it up before applying around your eyes before bed, best results when using your pinky

On Sunday was dinner at Mum's as usual, with a quick stop over to visit my bestie S.
Here is her dog, Oscar. He is super cute and very loving. I'm not a dog person but Oscar is not scary at all.
He knows me now and will always come around and sit by my feet or if I'm on her lounge, he will jump up and rest his head on my lap. Gorgeous Staffy!

and these are the flowers that D got me for our anniversary, they have almost all bloomed now and our apartment is smelling beautiful.

Hope you all had a fab weekend! xx

M's Birthday!

My dear friend M had her birthday on Friday. A bunch of girls put in and we got her this gorgeous Oroton tote bag. She saw it when we were at the QVB for my birthday, she had it on her elbow saying, how gorgeous is this bag, love the colour, I want it so bad! She was frothing over it and J thought it would be the ideal bag for her.

LOVED seeing her reaction when she opened it! We got it in Coral, her favourite colour and we also got a keyring to hang off the tote, to complete it.

Here is the pic she sent us, isn't it pretty?
I want to get one now, maybe the tan one?

I also got her a Pandora Bracelet and charm. She had been oo-ing and ahh-ing over mine for some time, I thought it would be the perfect gift for her! I have sorted her gifts for the next while. Get her a Pandora Charm. Boom, easy done.

I teased her for a bit, when she came in from work. "you can't touch it yet!"

My fave part of birthdays.. giving!

The girl at Pandora wrapped this super fast! Too pretty to open.

Yay, she loves it and put it on straight away.

Here it is, in the box.

We had dinner and drinks later that night at The White Horse in Surry Hills and unfortunately D's and my meal was pretty ordinary. It was very bland. We had Chilli and Prawn Linguine and it had no flavour. I had to grind a heap of salt and pepper into it and they totally forgot about S's meal. Poor thing finally got her dinner once everyone had finished. They did do great beer battered chips though!

Hope you had a lovely birthday M! xx

Anniversary dinner at China Doll.

On Thursday night we celebrated our ten year anniversary at China Doll, Woolloomooloo Wharf.

Firstly, parking in that area is a bitch, we made a booking for 7pm as we thought it would be quieter then but no, it was hectic, we rang the restaurant to say we were running late and if they knew of anywhere to park. The guy on the phone suggested Lincoln Cres and we found a lucky park for only $1.10 per hour! Gotta love that!

I have always wanted to go to China Doll because I've heard many great things about them and the food was amazing! and we had a dinner voucher given to us for an engagement present, so it was the perfect time to use it. The view of the city skyline was beautiful, it was a chilly night and they originally had us outside but my feet were freezing, they were lovely and moved us into a table inside. I swear it was about 8 degrees!

Here are some snapshots from the night.

It's so hard eating dinner in those little bowls but they're great for my portion control!

Menu.

Stalking the table behind me.

BEST mocktail ever! It's called Papa don't preach. It had passionfruit pulp, raspberry, peach and some other yummy stuff in it. We had two each!

Crispy Wonton filled with Scallops, Prawns and Vegetables.

 Chilli salt squid.

Grilled Chilli Octopus and snow peas.

Sichuan Salt and Pepper prawns with chilli and garlic.

Can you tell that we LOVE seafood?

Yummy chinese greens and Jasmine rice.

Crispy Pork belly with Chilli caramel.

We had a lovely night however disappointed that it took over an hour and a half to get our mains! There were three large groups who ordered banquets who all arrived after us, got served their mains before us?

It was fine in the end, D and I had great time talking about his proposal the year before and about our ten awesome years together..

10 YEARS!

D and I are celebrating 10 years together today!!

Anniversarys are special to us and we always celebrate with a fancy dinner in town.

I've just realised that I have been engaged for one year now too. Wow, does time fly!

We have been together (officially) since the 23rd of June 2001. We dated for 10 months when we were 14, went our seperate ways and got back together at 16. I was in year 11 and D was in year 10. We are both born in the same year but as he was born in September, he started a school a year after me. We used to catch the School special bus from the train station which dropped students of at his school first then mine and vice versa in the afternoon. This is where I first laid eyes on him.

I still remember that excited, nervous feeling that I used to get when I would see him in the morning at the station, we weren't going out at this stage. I would stand at the bus stop and try to act all cute and pretty, trying to catch his attention. D would stand there acting cool and every now and then I would catch him looking at me. When we would get on the bus, I would sit on the bus with a empty seat, hoping he would sit next to me and one day he did! and I remember my teenage brain thinking oh my god! oh my god! HE is sitting next to me! We wouldn't talk but just sat there in silence. We were so shy.

to be continued.......

Fully sick.

Ugh. I am so sick. I think I got a cold from being at the footy on friday night. I don't know how though because I was warm. I had about 10 layers of clothing on.

I posted on my FB status yesterday about how funny it is when you can only breathe through one nostril and when the other one clears it's pure awesomeness. I've gone through a whole box of tissues. It's gross.

I've also been popping an assortment of pills.

and sipping on some earl grey.

and this Sydney weather isn't making it much better! Its sounds like our windows are going to smash in, the wind is that strong and I hope our washing will dry out there. I have no undies left and have had to resort to wearing my beige bombers. (ha!)

Sorry I've been a bit mad for instragram lately.

Day at the Farm.

"Bannister isn't famous for Bannisters"

Yesterday we went to visit M's Dad's farm in Bannister/Goulburn.

It was a great girls road trip, in J's little coltie. That little car went hard in the wind and rain and with all 4 girls in tow. Apparently J can park her car on a peanut, I would love to see that! :)

The day started off with a compulsory stop at Maccas for some fuel.

As you can see here, we got two Mates Brekkie Boxes.

Love the beautiful countryside.

We got to Goulburn in good time with a little stop off at the local woolies to get some pending supplies for M's little sister.

Big sister to the rescue!

It was great to see M's Dad. It was kind of like seeing an uncle that I haven't seen in a long time. He lives in a beautiful house that he designed and built with a wrap around veranda and a huge fireplace. He has about 50 sheep, little baby lambs, about 8 rabbits, a goat, a dog and a fox.

We sat around the fire telling old stories and shared lots of laughs.

The gorgeous view from his veranda.

This is Tankerbell. Mr W's pride and joy. It's huge! He punctured a hole in J's tights with his horns!

 I fed the little lammies.

Big fat Bunnie.

It was a great day spent with my 3 bestest friends who are also my bridesmaids.

Love you girls so much more than words!
